Photo of south side of 1300 block Esquimalt Road. Businesses are Esquimalt Meat Market, Mr. Craven's Plumbing Shop (with house behind), drug store, Western Supply Store. Streetcar track is visible on north side of unpaved road. On the far north side of Esquimalt Rd. is the Coach and Horses Hotel.

The fonds consists of photographs of commerce, business establishments and other scenes of Esquimalt. Most of the photographs captures events celebrating Esquimalt's 75th Anniversary such as the World Jr. Curling Championship, Freedom of Municipality, 3rd Battalion PPCLI and Old Drydock 100th anniversary. The fonds also includes oral histories Gladys Durrant conducted with notable Esquimalt residents: Frederick Lock, Frank Elston and Mrs. Christina Ord.

Memoirs of Isabel Roger

Isabel Roger recalls her family's trip from Scotland to Esquimalt in 1908 and the difficulties of their first three years here. Their tenth child was born here and a daughter died soon after the baby's birth.
