Biographical history

James Robert Findlay was born in Esquimalt, B.C., Feb. 24, 1927. He was a draughtsman for the Municipality of Esquimalt, 1951-1954, a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force, 1954-1959, and an employee of the City of Victoria, 1960-1988. He is a lifelong resident of Esquimalt.

The fonds consists of photographs of the Findlay family and friends, Esquimalt scenes and residents, maps and nautical charts, a watercolour painting of Old Esquimalt Village, and yearbooks of Esquimalt High School.
