Gwilym Baugh-Allen was born in Chilliwack, B.C., in 1890 and moved to Victoria in 1908 when his father, the Rev. Wilmot Baugh-Allen, was called to serve Christ Church Cathedral, and then St. Paul's Naval Church in Esquimalt, B.C. Gwilym Baugh-Allen was educated in Victoria and was called to the bar in 1917. He eventually became senior partner in the law firm of Jackson, Baugh-Allen and Ross. Gwilym Baugh-Allen died in 1980.
Donald G. Beamish was born in St. Boniface, Manitoba, Dec. 27, 1943. He married Karen and they have three children: Nancy (1973), Jill (1968), and Shawna (1965). He graduated from Mt. View High School in 1961. Mr. Beamish has been a member of R.I.(B.C.
Betty Beckett was a resident of Victoria, B.C. Her grandparents, William and Annie Monteith, lived at 712 Lampson St. Her father, Roger, was also raised here.
Frank Bendall was born in Esquimalt, B.C., attended Lampson Street School until WW2 broke out. As a 15 year old, he began his career at Yarrows shipyards and worked there as a Storesman for 47 years until his retirement in 1987. He was an avid bowler and sport fisherman and was one of the original members of the Esquimalt Anglers Fishing Club. Frank and his wife Milly had four children.
Kenneth Bendall was a resident of Esquimalt, B.C. He attended school in Esquimalt and worked as Assistant Foreman at Yarrows Ltd. from 1939 to 1990. Ken provided an oral history in 1990. A written copy can be viewed/obtained from the Esquimalt municipal archives.
