James Robert Findlay was born in Esquimalt, B.C., Feb. 24, 1927. He was a draughtsman for the Municipality of Esquimalt, 1951-1954, a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force, 1954-1959, and an employee of the City of Victoria, 1960-1988. He is a lifelong resident of Esquimalt.
John (Jack) Fleming was born in 1936. During retirement, he volunteered on many committees including the Esquimalt Police Board.
Emily Forster (nee Cook) was born in Esquimalt and lived most of her life there. Her father, George J. Cook, was a well-known local businessman, who built a rental hall beside the family home on Nelson St.
Hazel Foster is a longtime resident of Esquimalt who worked at the Provincial Library for 10 years, also at B. C. Cement and the Provincial Legislature. She was educated in Esquimalt Schools. Her family ran Esquimalt Brewing Co. (Fairall) Brewery. Her husband's, Hedley Foster, father operated a tailoring business catering to the Army. Mr. Foster worked as a driver and in the wholesale hardware business.
Chris J. Goodwin is the son of Alf and Edith (1903- Jan. 26,1988) Goodwin (nee Rowe), who lived at Suffolk Street in Esquimalt for many years. Chris's grandparents, Samuel and Mary Rowe (nee Bowden), were also long-time Esquimalt residents, who were living at 510 Macaulay Street at the time of their deaths in 1930 and 1931 respectively. Chris's aunt was Elizabeth (Lizzie) Mary Lavinia Rowe (Apr. 12, 1889 - Nov. 13, 1940). Lizzie Rowe was a piano teacher in the Esquimalt-Victoria West area. She also played the organ at the United Church in Esquimalt.
Marjorie Green (nee Robinson) worked for Mrs. Peters at Macaulay Point 1932-1937.
Phyllis Pooley, known as Pep, was married to David Groos, former naval officer and member of Parliament for 10 years. Her grandmother, Elizabeth Wilhelmina Fisher, married Charles E. Pooley in 1869. Their son, Robert Henry Pooley was Phyllis' father. Her grandfather and father were both MLA's. Phyllis' mother was Laura Loewen. Following her death, R. H. Pooley married Mary Louise Tillinghast of Providence, R.I.
