William Curley (age 25, bachelor) and Phyllis Rhona Lockley (age 29, spinster) married on 27Oct1945 at St. Paul's Naval and Garrison Church, Esquimalt, BC. William, a foundary moulder, was born at Sturgis, SK to James Curley and Sadie Cust (both born Romania). Phyllis, a law office stenographer, was born at Victoria, BC to Alexander Lockley (born ENG) and Florence Louise Carter (born BC).

Young, Arthur

Arthur Young was born Oct. 23, 1923. He was a longtime resident of Esquimalt, B.C., where he received his education at Lampson St. School. He and two brothers operated the Esquimalt Meat Market, which was established by their father in 1912. Art Young served Esquimalt as alderman (1968-1970) and mayor (1970-1980).

Brunsdon, Thomas

Thomas Brunsdon was born in Victoria, B.C., and resided in Esquimalt. He was an instrument shop foreman at Dockyard. His father operated the End House in old Esquimalt village.

Hill, Kenneth

Kenneth Anthony Steven Hill was born August 18, 1927, in Esquimalt, B. C. He married Betty Cleo Aitken in 1950. They had six children: Sharon, Steven, Sandra, Susan, Ronald and Brenda. An electrician by trade, Mr. Hill also served as alderman from 1969 to 1977, as mayor from 1979 to 1987, and was a member of the Board of the Capital Regional District from 1982 to 1987. Ken Hill grew up at 824 Ellery Street during the 1930's and at 3015 Quadra Street until 1950. He built his home at 365 Lampson Street in 1954. Ken passed away July 13, 2006.

De Costa, Edward

Edward De Costa Sr. was born May 28, 1918 in Esquimalt. He married Johanna and had 5 children, Edward, Eileen, Joanne, Michael, and Robert. He served in the Royal Canadian Navy from 1938 to 1958, worked in the Dockyards for 10 years, and was an Esquimalt Alderman from 1959 to 1975.

Yvonne Leach (nee Stockley) was born in Victoria, B.C., and married Robert Caswell Leach in 1955 and had four sons. She is a long-time resident of Esquimalt, B.C.

Nelson, Douglas

Douglas Nelson was born in Montreal. He was an artillery officer WWII, Personnel Officer, Dockyard post WWII until 1979. He was an Honorary Base historian in 1979 author of historical articles on military history, including two for the book "Beyond the Blue Bridge".

Hodgson, Kathleen

Kathleen Hodgson (nee Field) was born April 27 1920 in Metchosin, B.C. She graduated from Victoria High School in 1937, and attended Sprott Shaw Business College in 1938. Kathleen married Benjamin Gordon Hodgson (b.1910-) on June 20 1941 and had a daughter, Lynda Kathleen (b. 1943). She resided at 511 Lampson Street since 1949.

Harvey, Alfred

Alf Harvey was born in Esquimalt, 1909. He was educated in Esquimalt Schools & Vancouver Technical School. Alf became a boat builder and worked at Ocean Falls, 1932-64; last 6 years as town site manager. In 1965 he was Gold River Superintendent. Alf lived in Esquimalt 1909-1922, Vancouver 1922-1932, and Ocean Falls 1932-1964. He retired to Esquimalt and died September 2000.
