Comerford, Christopher

Christopher, known as "Kelly", was born in Esquimalt in 1911. He married Marion Plumb in 1942. They had four children; William, born in 1944, Patricia and Robert (no birth year supplied) and Mark, born in 1956. 'Kelly' worked as an engineer in the dockyard.

Hawker, Marjorie

Marjorie Hawker (nee Coton) was a resident of Esquimalt. She was born July 12, 1919. Her parents came from England to Esquimalt where they ran a corner store, known as "Round the Corner" or "Coton's". She was a member of St. Paul's Church and volunteered at the Esquimalt Archives. She and her husband, Bill, had two children, Jeffery and Mary. Marjorie passed away August 7, 2008.

Simmons, Phoebe

Phoebe Edith Simmons (Buxton) was born in the brick house at Fort Rodd Hill on January 5, 1911. She was the oldest child of fourteen in the well-known Buxton family and was a long-time resident of Esquimalt. Phoebe took pride in caring for her many siblings as they grew and was never happier than when she married her love, Barney Simmons and had two children of her own. Barney died in the Gorge Road Hospital in 1987.
