Don Coltman was manager of Steffens-Colmer Studio from 1941-1943. In 1944 he took over the business and operated under the company name Steffens-Colmer Ltd. until 1951. From 1951 to 1954 he operated the business under Don Coltman Photographic Company (Don Coltman photos). In 1955 he closed the business and sold his photograph collection to Donn Williams. Williams Bros. Photographers Ltd. utilized these photographic records as stock photographs to compliment their own photographic records.

Miss Hewlings was a former teacher at Tillicum Elementary School and Esquimalt High School, where she was also the first female principal. She was a world traveler and had a fabulous collection of furniture from around the world.

Frances Elinor Elizabeth Harris (nee Collis) was born July 7, 1903, in Cumberland, B.C. She was educated in Esquimalt and after marrying in 1929 she and her husband left for China, where they spent several years, including two and a half years in a Japanese concentration camp. Following her husband's death in 1949 she took over the Royal Roads Kindergarten and ran it until 1974. Elizabeth (Beth) Harris died June 5, 1989.
