The Roger family of 11 arrived in Victoria in April, 1908, from Scotland. They lived in tents at what is now Gorge Vale Golf Course for 6 months. Jim Roger attended Lampson St. School and was Supervisor of Boom Defences during WWII. His wife, the former Rose Durrant, grew up in Esquimalt. Her parents operated Durrant's Bakery.
Phil Ross deceased January 20, 1991.
William (Bill) Rutherford was born in England and came to Esquimalt, B.C., in ca. 1922. He was a mechanic and owner of the Thoburn Garage, 852 Esquimalt Rd (demolished to provide parking for the Esquimalt Inn). Garage was owned by his father before him. Mr. W. Rutherford was married to Alden.
Mary Sandford was the niece of Hugh Peters.
Earl George Sarsiat worked for many years in law enforcement with the B.C. Police, with the RCMP as Chief Constable of the Esquimalt Municipal Police Department, and with the B.C. Sheriff's Department.
