              Vera Elspeth (Betty) Beckett, nee Monteith (Vea Beckett), is the daughter of Major Roger George Monteith (1885-1966) and Ernestine Doris Mason (1887-1968) and granddaughter of Joseph Mason (1839-1890) and Jane Bruce Skinner (1856-1924), who is the daughter of Thomas James Skinner, Bailiff Constance Cove Farm and Mary Lowdham Goodell. Betty married to Flying officer Fredrick (Fred) Fitton Beckett, R.C.A. F. (1912-1982) in 1942, (in England) during WW II. Her grandparents William Monteith (1850-1920) and Anne Good Monteith nee Berkley built “Oak Hall”, 712 Lampson Street. The couple had six children; Mary Lambeth (Mollie) (1884-?), Roger G. (donor's father) (1885-1966), Letitia Marlyn (Tiny) (1886-1974), Maude Edith (Baba) (1890-?), William Berkley (1894-1974), and Elenore Minna (Tommy) (1897-?). Betty grew up at 929 Burdett Street.
