Biographical history

Frances was born on November 19,1914 in Esquimalt and was raised in Esquimalt by her parents William and Louise (Stuart) Hodgson. Her siblings were William Stuart, Lilian Louise, Alan Charles and Benjamin Gordon. Frances married George Argyle in 1942 and they had 3 sons; Dennis, Gordon and Lorne. Frances worked at David Spencers and Eatons and her husband George owned Esquimalt Service Ltd. and served as an alderman of the Township of Esquimalt in the 1950’s and 60’s. Frances chose to live here in the area that she knew and loved.

Frances Argyle passed away on August 9, 2002.
