Long-time resident of Esquimalt, Phoebe Edith Simmons (nee Buxton), the oldest child of the fourteen children in the well-known Buxton family, took pride in caring for her many siblings as they grew up. She was never happier than when she married the love of her life Barney Simmons and had two children of her own. Phoebe died 15 February 2013 at the age of 102 in Comox, BC.
