On verso: "The Esquimalt Municipal Sports Centre is a community owned and operated Hockey and Curling Rink, officially opened on July 1st, 1961. The Sports Centre operated a winter program of curling, hockey and skating from October 1st to March 31st and a summer program of roller and ice skating, summer figure skating school, hockey school, summer bonspiel, lacrosse, shows and dances from April 1st to September 30th."
